Remove Tomatoe "Suckers"?
These never have blooms on them, and I thought that by taking them the plant would have more energy for the branches with fruit. In peaches and apples, branches are pruned off so that the energy of the plant is transferred to fewer fruits, making the remaining fruits larger.

Chitin From Shrimp/Lobster/Crab shells?
Aloha, The problem with getting a large amount of Chitosan for agricultural use here is the high cost of shipping. I was wondering if shells could be ground up and added to plant soil to provide the same benefit as the prepared products.

Chitosan for Tomatoe Plant Root fungis
Aloha, I am looking for a source to purchase Chitosan/Chitin to use in agricultural applications (on tomatoe plant roots) to eliminate root fungis. This has been suggested as an effective preventative measure to protect plants from root rot fungis.

When is the best time to transplant purpleleaf sand cherry bushes? Not everything transplants well in the fall. Ideally, transplant plants when the buds on the plant begin to swell, but before they break and leaf out completely.

Are there any sources that you know to obtain cuttings of crataegus oxycantha? Propagation by Seed (Info is about the genus Crataegus) Time of year to collect seed: autumn Time of year to sow seed: spring Preferred temperature for germination : 70-85 degrees F Time required for germination : 4-6 weeks Comment: Seedlings develop long taproots and should not be kept in the seedbeds more than 1 yr. Dry seed at room temp several wks before acid treatment.
