In just five years, these disease-resistant shrub roses became the most widely planted group of roses in North America. Rose
Roses are among the oldest cultivated flowers known to humankind. Modern roses are hybrids developed from two or more of several Asian rose species. Each type of rose plant has characteristics that suit it for specific landscape use in a residential yard and garden.

Miniature Rose
Foliage: The flowers are smaller, and the leaves, stems and internodes are in proportion to the petite flower size. There are shrubs and polyanthas with small flowers, but small flowers alone do not make a miniature.

Bush roses are the most familiar of the various types of rose, valued primarily for their stunning blooms. Winter hardiness refers to how well a rose plant can survive low temperatures or recuperate from damage inflicted by low temperatures alternating with thaws.

Most varieties and species of shrub roses are vigorous, hardy and resistant to insects and diseases. Shrub roses have growth habits varying from low ground cover types to large impenetrable hedge types.
