Planting Dill
While fairly tolerant of poor soil conditions, it prefers a sandy or loamy soil that drains well, just like most plants. Dill is a plant that does best when it is sown directly as seed into the prepared garden bed or container.
HGIC - Timely Tips: Seasonal and Indoor Plants
Unless your indoor plants are growing under optimum, high light conditions do not fertilize them during the winter months. Occasionally flush plants with water to leach excess salts from fertilizer to prevent brown leaf margins.
Planting Parsley
Parsley grows best in full sun in cooler areas of the country, but appreciates some afternoon shade in warmer climates. Ideal soil is moderately rich, moist, and well-drained, although plants tolerate poorer soils having less organic matter as long as drainage is adequate.
Planting Marigolds
Marigolds like full sun but they can tolerate up to 20% shade if the light is still bright for the rest of the day. Marigolds will give more and better bloom in poor soil than in rich.
Using Crocus In The Yard & Home
Plant them in the lawn where the grass is thin and can remain unmown until the flowers and leaves die back. Plant them in tubs or pots of all kinds in a soilless potting mix, but be sure the container has a drainage hole.
