Fertilizer For Lawns
The issue with lawn fertilizer is whether you use a slow release nitrogen product or a quick release nitrogen product. In the nutrient analysis on the back of the package where the percentages of the NPK nutrients are shown, nitrogen is often listed twice.

Whenever you see a fertilizer product, it will have three numbers prominently listed on the package, usually on the front. These numbers are very important and tell a great deal about what this fertilizer will do.

Lawn Fertilizers
The nutrients of most lawn fertilizers on the market today are synthesized rather than derived from natural plant or animal matter. The granular natural lawn products are by their nature slow-acting, because they depend on microbial action in the soil to release their nutrients for the plant roots.

Care After Planting Trees
Most newly planted trees need an inch of water a week during the first growing season to help their root systems develop. If the package label does not indicate amounts for trees, use ˝ pound of fertilizer for each ˝ inch of trunk diameter measured 4 feet up from soil level.
