Solutions for Mosquitos
We really don’t like the idea of spraying broad spectrum natural or synthetic insecticides around the yard in an attempt to deal with mosquitoes. One means of protection is to avoid mosquitoes by scheduling outdoor activities before or after peak mosquito activity, which is usually in the late afternoon and at dusk.

Choices of Zinnias
Zinnia angustifolia, a cousin of the common zinnia, is resistant to heat, humidity, drought and powdery mildew. It has narrow green foliage on pliable 14 inch stems, bears 2 inch flowers in white, orange or yellow and makes a nice groundcover.
