U.S. National Arboretum: Gardens: FAQs: 'Green Giant' Arborvitae
A U.S. National Arboretum elite plant, this ornamental, pyramid-shaped conifer is an outstanding landscape tree that gives you the look you want with improved performance. Additionally, deer grazing does not appear to be a problem for these hardy trees—certainly a beneficial quality for landscape plants.

The name Thuja 'Green Giant' was selected to identify and promote this clone. 'Green Giant' is a vigorously growing, pyramidal evergreen with rich green color that remains outstanding throughout hardiness range. It has no serious pest or disease problems and has been widely grown and tested in commercial nursery production. 'Green Giant' is an excellent substitute for Leyland cypress.

Landscaping For Nuthatches
To attract nuthatches to your yard for pest insect control and entertainment at the feeder, plant and maintain a variety of trees and shrubs for food and cover. Allow dead and dying trees, decaying stumps and rotting, fallen trees to remain on remote areas of your property as long as they are not a hazard.
