european Cranberrybush
It is about 7 ft tall and this is the first year that it has berries on it. It took me a while to get it identified since it is not usually in this area.

Using Marigolds In The Yard
Plant them at the back of a flower bed to serve as a backdrop to shorter flowers. Cathy Wilkinson Barash, noted authority on edible flowers suggests making marigold butter by chopping petals finely and mixing them into softened butter.

Cooking With Lettuce
Lettuce is a prime ingredient of many kinds of salads, where it can be used as the main ingredient or as part of a salad such as mesclun, a blend of many different types of salad greens such as cresses, chervil, chicory, sorrel and other herbs, and even edible flowers. Try a quick lettuce salad tossed together with olive oil and balsamic vinegar instead of the usual white or red vinegar.

Crabapple, Flowering
Crabapple trees are apple trees that bear fruits smaller than 2 inches across. Because these fruits tend to be sour or bitter, they are used primarily in preserves and jellies where they are sweetened.

Broccoli
While the leaves and stems of broccoli plants are edible also, it is primarily the large heads of immature flower buds, clustered tightly in a mass at the top of the thick main stems that are harvested for food.

Taste Repellent For Rabbits
This repellent is also approved for use on edible fruits, food crops and vegetable gardens because it contains no poisons or toxic chemicals. Deer, Rabbit and Squirrel Repellent will not change the color or texture of plants and leaves no residue, keeping flowers and plants beautiful all year long.
