Using Lambs Ears
Lamb's Ears make excellent ground covers or foliage accents on the edges of sunny perennial borders. Allow these plants to spread and spill over walls or on to paths for a pleasant effect.
Using Deadnettle
The light cream or silver markings on deadnettle foliage add brightness to shade gardens and the edges of shrub and flower borders. As groundcovers these plants fill in shady spots where many other plants will not grow.
Using Catmint In Landscape
Use hybrid catmint in the yard as a groundcover, an edging along sunny flower borders and walkways, or in rock gardens. Its bluish-lavender flowers and gray green foliage effectively set off warm colored flowers, especially pinks and yellows.
Using Dahlias
Dwarf types are ideal for the front of perennial borders or as edging plants to soften the transition from drive or walk to yard. Use late summer bloomers to fill in spots abandoned by earlier blooming perennials.
